Over recent years, with the economic development of China and its deeper communication & cooperation with international communities, some influential sports and cultural events took place in China. The issue of counterfeited tickets protrudes. Now, lots of ticket anti-counterfeiting technologies in the market feature low technical threshold and insufficient functionality, unable to extinguish counterfeited tickets, collect data or monitor security.
With 2008 Beijing Olympics on the horizon, enhancements in Chinese ticket anti-counterfeiting technologies become urgent.
Features of Solution|
Comparing with other anti-counterfeiting technologies such as laser anti-counterfeiting and digital anti-counterfeiting etc., electronic tag (RFID) features:
- The core of electronic tag (RFID) is a highly secure integrated circuit chip, whose security design and production process determine the high threshold of RFID technology. It is too hard to replicate.
- The electronic tag has a unique ID number –UID. UID is fixed in the chip and can't be modified or counterfeited. It is also mechanical wear and tear and stain preventive.
- Besides key protection of the electronic tag, data security can be managed through encryption arithmetic. Across verifications are implemented between read/write machine and tag.
- When addressing ticket anti-counterfeiting, replacement of traditional manual ticket with RFID electronic ticket can distinctly improve ticket check efficiency. In cases of large sports events and shows needing large ticket volumes, ticket anti-counterfeiting adopting RFID technology needs no manual identification, ensuing quick traffic of people. In or out identifiers of the ticket can be recorded to avoid reuse of the ticket by others. In cases of important events, the host can even monitor if the ticket holder has been at the appointed position.
Overview of System|
Tongfang Microelectronics' ticket anti-counterfeiting system is a complete set of solution that applies RFID technology in ticket anti-counterfeiting. This solution is based on Tongfang Microelectronics' THR1064 contactless IC chip, consisting of hardware and software. It can be combined with the client's existing ticket issuance software through the data interface, enabling the client to upgrade existing ticket system to RFID ticket anti-counterfeiting system at the lowest cost.
System Architecture|
Hardware in the ticket anti-counterfeiting system: ticket issuance device, ticket check device and RFID electronic ticket. Software: issuance terminal software as well as data monitor & analysis software. The system includes 3 major functional modules of ticket issuance, ticket check and data rollup & analysis. The following figure offers the details:

- Functional Module 1: ticket issuance
Ticket issuance module includes issuance terminal software, RFID card issuance machine and the client's existing ticket issuance system. The data interface provided by the client system combines issuance terminal software with the client's ticket sales terminal software. The card issuance machine is embedded in the client's existing ticket printer for collaborative work. When the client is printing the ticket, RFID card issuance machine writes relevant anti-counterfeiting information into the RFID tag in the ticket.
- Functional Module 2: ticket check
When entering, the audient holding RFID ticket passes the ticket check device, which identifies the validity of the ticket in an instance. The ticket check is quick and automatic. In case of temporary exit, the audient need check out passing ticket check device, so as to avoid that one audient takes multiple tickets out.

- Functional Module 3: data rollup and analysis
After the completion of ticket check, RFID ticket check device can upload the ticket check information (including ticket information and check time through the device etc.) to the server. The data monitor & analysis software running on the server delivers rollup and analysis of the uploaded information. If the networking ticket check system is adopted, the host can also monitor ticket check in time.
