First eUICC Product with Chinese Chip Passes GSMA M2M Test

An eUICC product based on TMC THD89 chip platform was recently included into the GSMA product compliance list after passing the review of GSMA M2M SGP16 compliance standard. This is the first time that the domestic security chip platform passed the GSMA M2M eUICC standard test, marking a significant breakthrough of Chinese chips in this field. 

Founded in 1987, GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications) unites nearly 800 of the world's mobile operators across 220+ countries. It is an industry organisation that represents the interests of mobile network operators worldwide. The M2M eUICC product test is a security assessment mechanism of GSMA, which is designed to ensure the safety and reliability of eUICC products in practical applications. It is a pass for major chipmakers to enter the international M2M eUICC field.

"The standards and thresholds for inclusion in the GSMA M2M eUICC list are very high. At present, only a handful of chipmakers have passed the test in the world. With working temperature ranging from -40°C to 105°C, it allows up to 500,000 program/erase cycles and a data retention of as long as 25 years. While saving more space for terminal devices, THD89 can adapt to more challenging external environments, maintain a longer service life and data storage cycle, and meet the extremely demanding security and stability requirements of M2M eUICC.

Notably, THD89 is the world's first Chinese chip receiving the SOGIS CC EAL 6+ security certification, demonstrating its world-class security protection capabilities. Its strong performance and compatibility help maximize the functions of the security system and the software capabilities, hence ensuring IoT devices realize the safest and most effective information transmission and connection with the global operator networks under the security mechanism.
